Before turning to clay and ceramics, Lisa Allegra graduated from Ecole des Arts Décoratifs of Paris specializing in furniture design and worked in several design agencies. The choice of clay came as she wanted to create small series of durable objects. Each piece is part of a collection but also entirely handmade, thus unique. For Lisa, clay is a material full of contrasts: playful but rigorous, approachable but uncontrollable, it allows her to explore thematics of balance and constrast that have always been part of her work.
