Usukiyaki began its life around 200 years ago in the later years of the Edo period. Its pottery was managed by government. After ten years of prosperity however, the pottery went into decline, and eventually ceased operations entirely. Around 5-6 years ago, we stood up to give a life back to Usukiyaki based on the historical documents and evidence. The petal edged porcelain called ‘Rinca’ is one of the characteristics. Our small factory aims to reconstruct Usuki-yaki, a visionary disappearance once, as modern version Usuki-yaki.
